Chip Sales Forecast Cut Due To Slower Hardware Sales

Slower-than-expected sales of PCs, smartphones and tablets led research firm Gartner to lower its chip sales forecast. Gartner now expects global chip sales to rise just 2.2% this year, to $343 billion.
