The semiconductor manufacturing equipment market is poised for more mergers and acquisitions, Pacific Crest Securities says. “As semiconductor technology becomes more challenging and chipmakers consolidate, scale becomes increasingly important for semiconductor equipment companies,” Pacific Crest analyst Weston Twigg said in a note Wednesday. He points out that many acquiring companies have performed well after recent chip-gear mergers.
