Chip Equipment Sales Increase Doesn’t Lift All Boats

Worldwide sales of semiconductor capital equipment rose 18% to $37.5 billion in 2014, but not all regions and companies benefited from the robust increase. Taiwan remained the largest market for new chip gear for the third year in a row, with $9.41 billion in sales, or 25% of the total market, according to trade group SEMI.
