BT Group (BT) confirmed advanced talks with France’s Orange and Deutsche Telekom over acquiring their U.K.-based joint venture EE, a deal that would shake up Europe’s telecom market. U.K.-based BT, formerly British Telecom, reportedly would pay roughly $19.5 billion for EE, which has 28 million wireless customers. An “exclusive” period to negotiate will last several weeks, said BT. Both U.K. and European regulators would review any BT-EE merger. Scalper1 News
