People confused about bitcoin, the cryptocurrency in the news a lot lately, aren’t getting much help from the nation’s comedians. They’re as baffled by the new digital medium of exchange as the next guy. Conan O’Brien showed his ignorance of the decentralized currency with a sketch in which “Bitcoin’s chief operating officer” appeared on O’Brien’s TBS show to try to explain what bitcoin is. “It’s an open-source synergistic flow matrix with e-transference of digital assets,” the Bitcoin executive told O’Brien in one failed attempt to explain it. Sounds simple enough. Zack Bornstein of Garlic Jackson Comedy gave his two bits on the bitcoin mess with a YouTube video called “No One Understands Bitcoin.” “At its most fundamental level, bitcoin is everything, but also nothing,” Bornstein explains.
