The much anticipated Apple Watch will be available for in-store previews and online pre-orders starting Friday. But early reviews of the smartwatch haven’t made a compelling case for consumers to buy one. A host of reviews posted online starting Wednesday described the Apple (AAPL) wearable as a nice-to-have product, but not a must-own gadget. Most reviews praised its styling and functionality, calling it the best smartwatch on the market. But … there were a lot of buts. Many reviewers said it was a classic first-generation product that shows great promise but needs improvement.
