Surveys are showing that women are much less likely than men to want an Apple Watch. That could be a big problem for a device that’s billed as much as a fashion piece as it is a tech gadget. A Reuters/Ipsos poll out Wednesday indicated that about 6% of U.S. adults plan to buy Apple’s (AAPL) smartwatch after it goes on sale April 24. But the Apple Watch appealed to fewer than 4% of women compared with 9% of men, Reuters reported. Apple likely will find women tougher customers than men, Euromonitor noted in a recent report on the watch market. It notes that women prefer to wear a watch that looks more like a bracelet and less like a timepiece (especially a square, digital timepiece like the Apple Watch), Vox reported. Even the smallest Apple Watch, which has a 1.5-inch display, might be too bulky for many female customers. Scalper1 News
