Apple stock rises on improved supply of iPhone 6 handsets

Apple’s prospects for the holiday season are picking up as the company’s supply of iPhone 6 handsets increases. But Apple (AAPL) still can’t keep up with consumer demand for its eighth-generation smartphones. BMO Capital Markets analyst Keith Bachman says Apple’s supply of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus handsets has improved in the U.S. But wireless carriers AT&T (T) and Verizon Communications (VZ) are still seeing long wait times as Apple stocks its own retail and online stores first, he said in a note Monday. “Whereas Apple stores were sold out of virtually all iPhone 6 models a few weeks ago, retail stores now appear to have almost half of the iPhone 6 models across the various carriers available for walk-in at Apple stores,” Bachman said. “It takes approximately 7-10 days to receive an iPhone 6, when ordering from the Apple website.
