Apple ready to quantify ‘electrifying’ iPhone 6 sales

After hinting about strong sales of its iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets, Apple will put some numbers behind its rhetoric on Monday when it reports fiscal fourth-quarter earnings after the market close. At a company event Thursday to announce new iPad tablets and Mac computers, Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook offered a vague preview of early iPhone 6 series sales. “We had an amazing reception to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch,” Cook said. “The stores were absolutely electrifying with energy … With great reviews and a great customer response, it’s no wonder that these iPhones have become the fastest-selling iPhones in history. And in the first 30 days, we have set a new high-water mark for the most orders taken.
