Apple makes new iPads, sees fitness band as medical

Apple’s fall product lineup hasn’t been unveiled yet, but fresh media reports signal next-generation iPads already in production and a fitness band being positioned as a medical device. Apple’s (AAPL) contract manufacturers have started making new iPads for release this fall, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. The new tablets will have the same display sizes as the current models, the news outlet said. They include a fifth-generation full-size iPad with a 9.7-inch display and a third-generation iPad Mini with a 7.9-inch display. The iPad is Apple’s (AAPL)  second-biggest product after the iPhone, but sales have declined for two straight quarters. In the June quarter, iPad sales dipped 9% year over year to 13.3 million units. The drop followed a 16% decline in the March quarter. Analysts have expressed concerns that the tablet market might be saturated and that consumers are holding on to iPads much longer between upgrades than they hold onto smartphones…. Scalper1 News
