Apple’s rumored iWatch smartwatch could miss the holiday shopping season or be in very short supply, based on a new production estimate by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In a new report obtained by AppleInsider, Kuo says Apple (AAPL) has pushed back mass production of the iWatch until mid- to late November because of difficulties in hardware and software development. Kuo previously expected the iWatch to enter mass production in late September. Kuo now forecasts production of 3 million iWatch units by year’s end, down from previous expectations for 10 million. The iWatch is said to feature a flexible AMOLED display with sapphire crystal cover, Kuo said. It is rumored to have a slightly rectangular 2.5-inch screen and 10 sensors for measuring physical activity and health. It also will be waterproof and use system-on-a-chip components.
