Apple, Google Eyed In Media-Content Consolidation

Google (GOOG) and Apple (AAPL) are unlikely to follow in the footsteps of cable TV firm Comcast (CMCSA) by acquiring a media giant, Bernstein Research says in a report, but it doesn’t rule out smaller content purchases. Comcast, which acquired all of NBCUniversal from General Electric (GE) last year, is seeking regulatory approval to buy Time Warner Cable (TWC).
