An apparent goof-up at Apple (AAPL) led to the release of details about the company’s next-generation iPad tablets a day early. Apple is expected to unveil the new devices at a media event Thursday at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, Calif. But the website 9to5Mac noticed the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 listed in the iPad User Guide for iOS 8.1 within iBooks. As expected, both new tablets feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the home button for secure log-ins and purchases, according to the listing. Another new feature is the ability to take rapid-fire photos in burst mode with the tablets, 9to5Mac said. That feature debuted last fall with the iPhone 5S. The new tablets also are expected to include faster processors and better cameras. A gold-colored iPad is another possibility, according to media speculation.
