Apple facing launch delays for iPhone 6 phablet, iWatch

Apple (AAPL) appears to be having trouble bringing new products to market. A report out of Asia on Sunday said Apple’s jumbo-sized iPhone 6 could slip into 2015 because of production problems. Apple was expected to launch two models of the iPhone 6 this fall, one with a 4.7-inch screen and the other with a 5.5-inch screen. But KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi Kuo says that the latter model might be delayed until next year. In a report obtained by MacRumors the well-connected analyst says Apple’s contractors are having problems with yield rates on the iPhone 6 in-cell touch panel and metal casing. The report comes just days after Kuo said production problems could limit the availability of Apple’s rumored iWatch smartwatch this holiday season.
