Wind, fuel cell and other alternative energy stocks have outperformed this year despite mostly weak earnings results. The Energy-Alternative/Other industry group was ranked No. 1 out of 197 as of Tuesday’s IBD. It’s been among the leading industries for much of this year, rising 39% vs. the S&P 500’s 7% gain.
