Alibaba Group Scores On Singles’ Day Shopping Event

China e-commerce giant Alibaba Group (BABA) shattered last year’s record for Singles’ Day on Tuesday, processing $9.3 billion in total gross merchandise sales. That’s up 62% from the $5.75 billion it processed last year for the annual shopping holiday on Nov. 11, also known in China as Shopping Festival.
