Intel and Micron Technology could hold the catalyst that decides the heated Apple (AAPL)-Samsung battle for smartphone market share, but only if the partners ramp their 3D XPoint chips fast enough, analysts say. Intel (INTC) and Micron (MU) introduced the 3D XPoint (pronounced “crosspoint”) in August to much hoopla. They tout 3D XPoint as the first new type of memory chip in nearly three decades.
