3D Systems To End Production Of Consumer 3D Printer

The consumer market for 3D printers has been a bust, with 3D Systems (DDD) announcing it will end production of its $999 Cubify printer, three years after entering the field. Rival 3D printer maker Stratasys (SSYS), which entered the consumer market in July 2013 with its $403 million acquisition of Makerbot, began reorganizing the unit in July.
