18 Automakers Agree To Car Safety Pact After Scandals

After a record number of vehicle recalls lately and high-profile car safety problems in recent years, such as General Motors’ (GM) ignition switch issue and Toyota Motor’s (TM) unintended acceleration woes as far back as 2007, U.S. auto safety regulators have reached an accord with 18 automakers to better identify defects early, and help save lives.
